Walkfindr 2.6.2 — quicker walks and community sharing.

• Walks generate much faster, often in under a minute, even when the map server is busy. Your loops stay just as good.
• Share to Community now works. Share a saved walk and others nearby can find it in the Community tab.
• If a share ever fails, Walkfindr now tells you why instead of always pointing at your iCloud sign-in.

Walkfindr 2.6.1 — polish and fixes for our biggest update.

• Taking a photo mid-walk no longer resets your time and distance.
• Finishing a walk now fully ends it — no more location tracking or Lock Screen activity left running afterwards.
• The Lock Screen shows the right distance after you tap "Take me back", and picks up new directions straight away.
• Walks saved to your history are named properly — themed and A-to-B walks no longer show up as "Loop Walk".
• Offline walk generation works first time after opening the app in Airplane Mode, and now steps in when a weak signal can't reach the route planner.
• Faster, more reliable walk generation when the map server is busy.
• Routes that can't quite match your time now always tell you so, and a halfway café or pub that isn't nearby no longer slows generation down.
• Walk challenges keep your list on screen when you're offline, show the right end date, and "Leave" now really removes you from the leaderboard.
• Rain warnings no longer count rain that's only forecast for later today.
• Smoother scrolling on route screens.

What's New in Walkfindr 2.6.0 — smarter walks, and ten new ways to enjoy them.

A COFFEE (OR A PINT) HALFWAY ROUND
Choose a café or pub stop and Walkfindr builds your loop around a real one, placed at roughly the halfway point. The preview tells you how many minutes in your break will be.

SEASONAL WALKS, ONE TAP AWAY
A new "This season" row on the home screen offers ready-made walks for the time of year: autumn colour and conker hunts now, bluebell woods in spring, riverside rambles in summer and a Christmas lights loop in December.

GUIDED THEMES
Pick History, Nature, Architecture or Waterside. Your route heads past matching places, and the audio companion tells you about them as you go.

TAKE ME BACK
Tired, cold, or short on time? Tap "Take me back" mid-walk to see the most direct way to your start point, then switch onto it.

LIVE ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN
Your walk now appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: time, distance, your next turn and how far you've got to go.

KEEPS TRACKING WITH YOUR PHONE IN YOUR POCKET
Distance and your route now keep recording while your screen is locked.

WALKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Offline regions now save the local streets and paths too, so Walkfindr can create brand-new walks with no signal at all. Already downloaded a region? Tap "Enable offline walk generation" in Offline Regions.

MUD & FLOOD AWARE
After a wet few days, Walkfindr steers you away from muddy tracks, and warns you if part of your walk runs beside water that may be flooded.

STEP-FREE WALKS
A new step-free option for wheelchairs and buggies avoids stiles, kissing gates, steps and unpaved ground wherever the map data allows, and tells you about anything it couldn't avoid.

WALK CHALLENGES WITH FRIENDS
Set a distance goal, share a six-character code, and race your friends up the leaderboard. Find it under Community.

EXPORT TO GPX
Send any walk to OS Maps, Strava, Komoot or your Garmin from the share button.

SMARTER ROUTES ALL ROUND
Dog-friendly, accessible, avoid stiles and flat-or-hilly preferences now genuinely shape your route. Walkfindr also favours footpaths over pavements, visits your must-see stops in a sensible order, and is quicker to find a route that matches your time. Plus a cleaner Loop / A to B switch on the home screen.

What's New in Walkfindr 2.5.0 — our biggest update ever, and the arrival of Walkfindr Premium.

IF YOU'RE ALREADY WALKING WITH US: THANK YOU
Everyone who installed Walkfindr before this update keeps the entire app — including every new feature below — completely free, forever. You'll see a "Founding Walker" badge in your profile. New walkers get 30 days of full access free, then Walkfindr Premium is £0.99/month, £9.99/year, or £19.99 once for lifetime access.

WALKS FROM A TO B
Loops are no longer the only way. Pick a destination — the station, a friend's house, the pub — and Walkfindr builds the scenic way there, complete with turn-by-turn navigation.

COMMUNITY ROUTES
Discover walks shared by other walkers near you, and share your own favourites. No account needed — it works quietly through iCloud.

AN AUDIO COMPANION
Turn on narration and your walk talks back: scenic spots announced as you approach them, kilometre milestones, and a warm welcome as you set off. It politely ducks your music.

EXPLORATION MODE
See how much unique ground you've covered, and flip on "Prefer streets I haven't walked" to have new routes deliberately lead you somewhere new.

THE BEST TIME TO WALK, FOUND FOR YOU
A new card on your home screen scans the next 36 hours of forecasts and picks the driest, mildest window — with an optional nudge when it arrives.

EDIT YOUR ROUTE
Reshape any generated walk before you set off: add stops, move them, skip waypoints, and reroute in a tap.

TRENDS & TRAINING
Beautiful charts of your weekly distance against your goal, monthly trends, pace progression and personal records.

OFFLINE REGIONS
Download the maps and footpaths for a whole area — up to 8 km around any point — so saved walks work far beyond signal.

APPLE WATCH
Your walk on your wrist: live time, distance and calories, the next turn, and a gentle tap when a turn is coming up.

What's New in Walkfindr 2.4.0 — a fresh face and smarter walks.

A BRAND NEW ICON
Walkfindr has a new look on your home screen — a bold white W striding across forest-green hills. Same app, fresher boots.

A NEW WELCOME
First launch now opens with full-screen scenes of misty hills, glowing route maps and sunlit trails — and the same look flows through the home screen and our website.

NO MORE DEAD-END DETOURS
Short walks sometimes grew a branch — a detour down a side street just to touch a waypoint, then straight back. The engine now spots these dead-end spurs and re-plans around them, so your loop is a clean circuit all the way round.

OUT-AND-BACK WALKS NOW GO THE DISTANCE
Fixed an issue where out-and-back walks could come out at around half the length you asked for. Whether it's your chosen route or the suggested alternative, the turnaround point is now placed so the full walk matches your target.

BETTER LOOPS, CHOSEN BETTER
The route engine's sense of shape has been sharpened — it now judges loops from their true centre, so genuinely round, satisfying circuits rise to the top and lopsided ones get filtered out.

FASTER GENERATION
Each tap of generate now does its map lookups once instead of repeating them for every attempt, so routes appear quicker — especially in the countryside where the engine needs several tries.

MORE VARIETY, MORE RELIABILITY
Route attempts now sweep evenly around the compass instead of picking random directions, giving better coverage of your area on every generate. Walk lengths and time estimates now follow your walking pace consistently from the slider to the preview, and rapid re-generates no longer briefly show the previous route.
