Ver 1.0.6 2026-10-21
A refreshed App Store page with new screenshots. Nothing changes in how FreezeSlice works: everything from the last update is here, including new Smear and Grit types, the safety limiter, your own slicer patterns and custom MIDI. Thanks for using FreezeSlice!
Ver 1.0.5 2026-10-13
What's New in FreezeSlice
NEW TEXTURE TYPES
- Smear now has four types: Wash (the original), Drift (each note wanders slowly in pitch, like a small choir), Breathe (each note swells and dips on its own) and Blur (soft neighbouring tones for an unfocused pad).
- Grit now has seven types: Warm, Tape, Crush, Fuzz, Fold, Dust and Crumble (the original Grit). Every type is level-matched, so it changes the character, not the volume.
- Pick a type from the new menu above the Smear, Shimmer and Grit knobs.
SAFETY LIMITER
- A new output limiter keeps big stacks of layers and pads from clipping, with no added delay. At normal levels it doesn't touch the sound. A small orange light shows when it's working. It's on by default, and you can switch it off in Settings.
YOUR OWN SLICER PATTERNS
- Save any rhythm you make under your own name. It joins the built-in patterns in the PATTERN menu.
- Reorder the whole list, built-ins included, and rename or delete your own.
PRESETS AND PATTERNS FROM YOUR HOST
- Choose FreezeSlice presets from your host's own preset menu in Loopy Pro, AUM, GarageBand, Logic and more.
- New Preset, Next/Previous Preset and Next/Previous Pattern controls let you change sounds and rhythms from widgets, foot pedals or automation.
CUSTOM MIDI
- A new MIDI tab in Settings lets you change the CCs for Add, Replace, Release and Stop Pads, and the notes for pads 1–8.
- Use MIDI Learn to assign a control with one press, or set a number by hand. You can also choose a single MIDI channel.
- Your MIDI setup is saved on your device for every session. The original defaults still work out of the box.
ALSO
- Every new setting can be controlled from your host.
- Sessions and presets from earlier versions open sounding exactly as before.
- The guide (Settings > Guide) covers everything new.

Ver 1.0.4 2026-10-11
Lock a slice pattern to any pad
Each pad can now have its own rhythm. Long-press a pad's slicer symbol and tap Lock Current Pattern. The pad keeps that pattern, rate and step count while the live layers and your other pads follow the main slicer. Stack pads with different grooves, or go back any time with Follow Global.
See every rhythm on the ring
Each locked pattern that's playing gets its own thin ring, in blue to purple, just inside the main ring. Rings swell and fade with their pads, and when one stops, the others move out to fill its place. A locked pad's slicer symbol glows so you can tell which pads have their own pattern.
Also new
- Locked patterns are saved with your pads in sessions and presets, and you can see each pad's pattern in Settings > Pads
- A new SET chip in the header shows the last setting your host or controller changed
- Better support for mono inputs in AUM and other hosts
- Updated guide covering any host, with tips for mapping pads to controls
- Now runs on iOS 17 and later
- A cleaner app screen

Ver 1.0.3 2026-10-09
Lowered the OS floor to 17.6 :D
Ver 1.0.2 2026-10-09
This update fixes a few things and smooths out MIDI/host control.
Fixed Momentary pads sometimes staying on after you let go, instead of releasing right away
FreezeSlice now loads properly in AUM and other hosts that send a mono signal into a stereo effect slot
Added guidance in the in-app Guide on mapping pad triggers from your host (Loopy Pro, AUM, and others), including how to get true press-and-hold behavior on Momentary pads
Thanks for the amazing response on launch — more improvements on the way!
