Verse Cuts

Preserve a starting lyric draft while you compare alternate lines, choose takes and keep the working notes behind your selected version.

1. Open Verse Cuts from Lyric Pad. Snapshot the current pad, enter a new starting draft or explore the night-windows example.
2. Open a line and keep up to eight takes. Compare dictionary or estimated syllable counts, set a target, add delivery notes or enter your own spoken count. Starting line text stays preserved.
3. Choose the take for each line and read the selected draft. Share just the chosen lyrics or the full working report with every take, note and count source.

Your own writing, with no generated lyrics or automatic replacement of Lyric Pad text. Dictionary pronunciations and unknown-word estimates may differ from your accent or delivery; count fit is not a quality score. Up to 50 cuts, 100 lines per cut and eight takes per line. Blank lines preserve stanza spacing.

Version 3.0 makes the Lyric Pad substantially safer and more accurate.

- Saved songs now use atomic, versioned on-device files with automatic backup recovery and migration from earlier releases.
- Song identity no longer depends on its title, so separate drafts with the same name remain separate.
- Autosave is smoother, save failures are shown, and the previous 200-song limit is gone.
- Assonance now uses stressed pronunciation vowels and returns deterministic results.
- Unknown line-ending words remain unclassified instead of receiving spelling-based rhyme guesses.
- Dynamic Type and line-level rhyme controls are more accessible.

No new permissions, network use, accounts, ads, analytics, or subscriptions.
