Field Kits and Inspection Desk

Field Kits organizes focused knot practice. The new Inspection Desk records product identity, history and observed condition for a clear handoff, with uncertainty kept visible.

1. Open Browse → Field Kits. Build a named set of up to 12 knots, follow guides and mark self-reported practice.
2. Open Beyond → Inspection desk. Identify the product and instruction source, record history and condition, then freeze and share the brief.
3. Open Beyond → Load worksheet for arithmetic using a documented product rating and your own identified divisor.
4. Read Strength evidence for the information needed to assess a real product or test result. Generic knot-strength percentages and annual UV-loss estimates have been removed from the interface.

The app does not approve equipment, calculate remaining rope strength, determine a working load limit or certify competence. An inspection brief is a self-reported record. A worksheet quotient is arithmetic only and models no knot, termination, dynamic load, wear or system interaction. Follow identified manufacturer instructions and qualified guidance. Field Kits holds up to 20 kits. Inspection drafts last for the current visit; export to retain them.

4.0: Field Kits

Field Kits turns the catalog into focused practice sets. Choose an ordered group of knots, open their step-by-step guides, mark practice and share a text field sheet.

• Open Browse → Field Kits → Create field kit.
• Name the kit, add a purpose and choose up to 12 knots in the order you want.
• Open guides, mark practice, edit the kit or share its field sheet.

Up to 20 kits are stored. Practice marks are self-reported and do not certify competence. A kit does not establish suitability for climbing, rescue, life support or any load-bearing task; follow the existing guide limitations.

Tail Mate copies the finish a knot's own notes already name — a backup, stopper, or substitute — then puts that pair on the clipboard. It is not a score and it does not invent a pairing. If the catalog is silent, it says so.

Checked diagrams stay: crossings are solved from the curves actually drawn, or the knot shows written steps instead of a guessed picture. Diagram coverage still lists which is which.

Everything still runs offline. No account, no tracking.
