Texture Foragerはどんなアプリ？
Texture Foragerは、周囲にある石や樹皮などの質感をゲーム用素材へ変換するアプリです。
フラッシュを照射して表面の凹凸を正確に測定するため、質感の高さや向きを自動で計算します。照明の影響を取り除いて純粋な色味だけを抽出する処理が行われるので、継ぎ目の目立たない高品質な素材を作成できます。3Dモデル上でのプレビューや、実際の空間に配置するARでの確認も行えるため、意図した通りの質感になるか事前に確かめられます。
現実の風景から素材を取り込みたいゲーム開発者や、建築ビジュアライゼーションを行うクリエイターにうってつけです。苔の生えた壁やレンガの質感など、実在する素材をデジタル空間へ再現したい場面で頼りになります。

石や樹皮の表面を撮影してデジタル空間で使えるデータに作り変えます。現実にある素材をそのままの質感で再現したい場面で助けになります。
フラッシュを用いた高度な深度計測
フラッシュを当てて表面の凹凸や高さを正確に測る仕組みが入っています。単なる写真では捉えきれない微細な高低差をデータとして取り込めます。
純粋な色味だけを抽出する処理
照明の影響を自動で取り除き、素材本来の色味だけを抽出します。継ぎ目の目立たない高品質なテクスチャとして保存できます。
3Dモデル上での質感プレビュー
作成した素材を3Dモデルに貼り付けて実際の見え方を確認できます。制作の過程で意図した通りに質感が表現されているか確かめられます。
