Even Longer 2.0 is a complete rebuild — and the first long-exposure app on the App Store to shoot 48 MP and Apple ProRAW. Everything below is new.

iPHONE 18 PRO VARIABLE APERTURE, FROM DAY ONE
The iPhone 18 Pro's main camera has a real iris, and Even Longer drives it: an aperture button and ruler on the camera screen, every stop the lens offers, aperture priority in the viewfinder, and the f-number written into every file. On iPhones with a fixed iris the control simply stays hidden — there is nothing to set.

48 MP AND APPLE PRORAW
Long exposures at the sensor's full 48-megapixel readout, and merged results written as Apple ProRAW — both a first among long-exposure apps on the App Store. Maximum resolution works in frame averaging with ProRAW, TIFF, HEIC or JPEG on iPhones with a 48 MP sensor; at that resolution the camera meters automatically (EV offset and white balance still apply). ProRAW needs a ProRAW-capable iPhone. ProRAW and TIFF are PRO formats; 48 MP HEIC and JPEG are included.

SHADOWIQ, AND RAW SHADOWS TRANSFORMED
Merged RAW files hold dramatically more in the shadows and blacks than 1.6.13 ever did: deep shadows lift cleanly in your editor, and the blacks underneath stay smooth. ShadowIQ goes further still: shadow detail with even less noise, and no need to bracket exposures any more. RAW output is PRO, ShadowIQ included.

REMOTE CONTROL (PRO)
Drive the camera from an iPhone, iPad or Mac: live viewfinder, full manual control, live progress, and finished files delivered back to the controller. Pairing is TLS-secured on your local network, and an off-grid hotspot mode works in the field with no router. Even Longer Remote is a separate free download; switching remote control on at the camera is a PRO feature.

APPLE WATCH
A watch app with a live viewfinder, shutter, pause and resume, progress and countdowns — plus a Smart Stack widget. Included with the app.

CELESTIAL OVERLAY (PRO)
In Star Trails mode the viewfinder projects the celestial pole, catalogue stars, constellations, the moon, and a simulation of the trails your configured exposure will actually draw — before you commit the hour.

PLANNING (PRO)
Scheduled capture with start and end times on a 24-hour ruler, under a band that colours every minute by the sun's real altitude at your location, with sunrise, sunset and the three twilights marked. The intervalometer can now repeat until a chosen time, or run on a schedule. Interim saves protect an unattended run.

OUTPUT, YOUR WAY
Pick a preferred format — RAW (DNG), ProRAW, TIFF, HEIC or JPEG — and drag the rest into a fallback order. When a lens or mode can't produce your pick, the camera saves the next one it can and tells you why, without ever changing your choice.

MORE CONTROL
Anamorphic desqueeze (PRO). Capture aspect ratio on square front sensors. White balance. Total-frames targets, set from the camera screen. Pause and resume a running capture.

REBUILT
A new camera interface with ruler-style exposure controls. iPad support in all four orientations, including Split View and Stage Manager. Per-lens measured focal length, sensor size and crop factor. External USB camera support. A device capabilities page. And a complete German translation.

Your settings carry over, and existing PRO purchases carry over. PRO stays an optional in-app upgrade — monthly, yearly, or once and forever. Thank you for five years of Even Longer — this is the version I wanted to build.

Your PRO membership now stays unlocked even when you're offline or on a weak connection. Previously an active subscription could be temporarily locked when the App Store couldn't be reached to verify it — it's now confirmed instantly on your device.
